Why then CameraPanda?

You may be asking yourself, what does CameraPanda do for me? I mean Amazon has facets, right? NewEgg has quite good facets, why make a new site?

Good and fair questions. Some of the answer depends on your level of expertise. If you don’t know (or care) what ISO is then CameraPanda (right now), might not be for you. But here are some questions that I don’t think Amazon, NewEgg, Adorama, B&H (or anywhere?) can currently easily answer

  • Is there a Sigma Art Series lens that fits a Sony E Mount?
  • What are the newest 4K mirrorless cameras?
  • Which cameras have microphone and headphone jacks?
  • Which 70-200mm lenses fit a Canon EF mount, ordered by maximum aperture?
  • Which cameras have the highest base ISO?

Each one of those questions is easily answered in just a click or two.

It could be that someone reads this post, sequesters some developers for a bit and they emerge with all the CameraPanda facets, features and more, then what does CameraPanda offer?

Pricing comparison. CameraPanda currently pulls prices from 30 sites. Pretty great, huh? The goal is that we help you find what you’re looking for, then help you find the best price.

I’d also throw in focus and dedication. CameraPanda is just for cameras and lenses. Period. We know cameras and lenses, consistently doing video work and photo work with some of the best, newest cameras. We want to develop through our Trello board of features (yes, more great things to come), fold in great feedback that we’ll hopefully get and make (humbly) the best camera / lens shopping site on the web.

Oh, and some of those new features aim to help folks that just want a great camera for taking pictures of the mountains or their kids; or video of a dance recital without caring about what ISO is. Look for some blog posts and reviews to help answer some of those questions as well.

So easy, right? 🙂
